Restaurant, Bar & Drinks Photography Across London

Rutland food photographer showcasing vibrant, professionally styled food images for marketing and branding purposes. High-quality culinary photography from Clean Plate in Rutland, UK.

Professional food photography for London restaurants, bars, and cafés

I’m Barnaby, a London food photographer who regularly travels into the city for shoots. I don’t just photograph finished dishes – I capture your kitchen in action, your team at work, and the atmosphere that makes your place special.

Based in the East Midlands, I work with restaurants and bars across London. Recent clients include Cellar at Kindred in Hammersmith, where I’ve shot multiple times – seasonal menus, cocktails, kitchen content, the lot.

Whether you’re in West London, Central London, or anywhere across the city, I work quickly with minimal fuss. No elaborate setups blocking your service, just professional photography that tells your full story.

What I Shoot

As a London food photographer, I don’t just photograph finished dishes – I capture the full experience of your restaurant:

  • Your food – Beautifully lit, naturally styled dishes for menus, websites, and delivery apps like Deliveroo
  • Your drinks – Cocktails, wine, beer, coffee – capturing the pour, the making, the finished serve
  • Your kitchen in action – Chefs working the line, dishes being plated, the pass during service
  • Your team – The people behind the food. Portraits and candid moments of chefs, bartenders, front-of-house
  • Your space – Interiors, bar setups, the atmosphere that makes people want to visit
  • Behind-the-scenes content – Documentary-style shots perfect for Instagram stories and building trust with customers

One shoot gives you menu photography plus weeks of social media content. Not just pretty plates – the whole story.

Recent Work in London

I’ve been shooting regularly for Cellar at Kindred in Hammersmith for over three years.

Multiple seasonal menu updates, new cocktail menus, behind-the-scenes kitchen photography – the kind of ongoing relationship you get when a restaurant genuinely rates your work.

What I’ve shot for them as a London food photographer:

  • Food photography for seasonal menu launches
  • Drinks photography for cocktail menus and bar content
  • Kitchen action shots – chefs plating, the pass during service, prep work
  • Behind-the-scenes content for social media

If you’re looking for someone who gets what you’re trying to do and captures it honestly, let’s talk.

How It Works

No complicated process, no endless back-and-forth. Here’s what happens:

  • We Have a Chat – Phone call or email to discuss what you need. Menu update? Full brand shoot? Deliveroo/Just Eat/ Uber Eats images? I’ll ask about your food, your space, and what you want to achieve.
  • We Plan the Shoot – I’ll create a shot list based on your menu and what you’re after. We’ll agree on timing – quiet period, during service, whatever works for you.
  • I Turn Up and Shoot – Half-day (3-4 hours) or full-day (6-8 hours). I work quickly and quietly, with as little disruption as possible.
  • You Get Your Images – 5-10 days later, fully edited images delivered via online gallery. High-res files for print, web-optimised for social media. Use them everywhere – menus, website, Instagram, printed media, food delivery apps, wherever.

No drama, no fuss. Professional work delivered on time.

Why People Choose to Work With Me

I shoot the reality, not the fantasy
Most food photography looks artificial because it is – fake steam, inedible “food” that’s been glued and sprayed. I photograph the food you actually serve, plated the way you actually plate it. Documentary approach, honest results.

More than just plates
Menu photography is important, but it’s not the whole story. Your customers want to see who’s cooking, how it’s made, what your place feels like. One shoot with me gives you all of that.

Proven in London
When Kindred books you three years running, you’re doing something right. I understand London venues – the pace, the standards, the need to keep service running smoothly.

Fast turnaround
Images delivered in 5-10 days. No waiting weeks to launch your new menu or start posting content.

Straightforward to work with
No pretentious photographer nonsense. Just clear communication, professional work, and results you can actually use.

My London shoots include comprehensive culinary photography that goes beyond menu dishes to capture chefs at work, kitchen atmosphere, and the complete dining experience your restaurant offers.

Who This Is For

This works well for:

  • Independent restaurants launching seasonal menus
  • Bars needing cocktail photography and behind-the-scenes content
  • Restaurant groups updating multiple menus
  • New venues building their initial content library
  • Established places refreshing their brand photography
  • Anyone using food delivery apps (Just Eat, Deliveroo, UberEats) who needs compliant, professional images

This probably isn’t for you if you just need quick snaps on an iPhone. For that, ask your bartender.

But if you want professional photography that shows what you’re really about – your food, your people, your atmosphere – we should talk.

FAQ | London Food Photographer

Thinking about booking a shoot? Here are straightforward answers to the questions I get asked most often about working in London – from travel costs to timing to what you actually get.

No. Travel from the East Midlands to London is included in all packages. I’ve done this journey enough times that it’s just part of the job.

Absolutely. Some of the best kitchen shots happen during the rush. I’ll work around your team without getting in the way. If you prefer I shoot during quiet hours, that works too.

Half-day is 3-4 hours, full-day is 6-8 hours. Most restaurants book half-day for menu updates, full-day for complete brand photography covering food, kitchen, team, and interiors.

No. Kindred is in Hammersmith, but I shoot anywhere across London. West End, East London, South London, wherever you are.

I know their specific requirements inside out. Deliveroo wants 16:9 hero images and 1:1 menu items. Uber Eats has slightly different specs. I’ll shoot to the exact aspect ratios and sizing they need so your images get approved first time.

Usually within 2-3 weeks. Sometimes sooner if I’m already in London that week. For urgent projects, call me and we’ll figure it out.

High-resolution JPEG files, fully edited. You get both print-quality versions and web-optimized files for social media. Full commercial usage rights – use them anywhere, forever.

I’ll guide you on plating if needed, but the food should look how you’d normally serve it. I’m not interested in fake styling or props – just your food, done well, looking natural.
