BBQ photographer | The Client’s Challenge
Hoggy’s Grill, led by Matthew Hoggard, needed a dynamic suite of images to showcase their unique brand of BBQ school. The existing website and social media content lacked the energy, smoke, and texture that define premium barbecue. The goal was to provide high-impact visuals that simultaneously promoted their event catering services and provided aspirational imagery for their BBQ masterclasses, emphasising the quality of ingredients and the hands-on process.

My creative solution and technical approach
To capture the genuine atmosphere of a Hoggy’s Grill event, the shoot was focused on authenticity and action. We used natural, diffused daylight to enhance the rich textures of the smoke and char. The photographic approach blended wide, environmental shots (to showcase the branding and professional setup) with tight, macro shots to emphasise the sizzle, assembly of fresh ingredients, and the chef’s expertise. The final gallery provides a dynamic mix of hero food shots and compelling lifestyle content, all delivered with a consistent, warm, and high-impact aesthetic.

Grilling School BBQ Photographer | The commercial results
The resulting images instantly upgraded Hoggy’s Grill’s entire visual presence. The photos now act as the backbone of their new website, making their food look as good as it tastes and immediately setting them apart from the competition. More practically, the action-focused gallery gave the team a ton of engaging, shareable material that they could use right away. This content powered a successful new push on social media, driving more traffic to their website and looking to increase masterclass bookings.
